The current generation is in an alarming need to get rid of negativity. There are so many actual and virtual negative distractions that disable us from focusing on things which happen to be the real priorities of our life.
Thus, here are few tips that will help you pacify your negative thoughts:
1)Stay away from ‘still’ people
The most urgent thing for a person, whose mind is occupied with a plethora of negative thoughts, is to stay away from the people who sound negative in every aspect. Staying away from “still” people simply means ignoring the ones who are still broken, still complaining, still crying, still hating and still nowhere. Surround yourself with the ones who motivate you, inspire you, listen to your grievances and spread happiness around.
If you set goals, you will focus more on what to achieve and how to achieve it. Rather than being blind-folded to your life’s aspirations and standing nowhere, sit for a while and make an affirmative decision of choosing a definite aim to achieve.
3)Replace negative words with positive ones
Words like failure, discontent, unhappiness, worries, malevolence etc., banish all positivity. When such negative thoughts strike your mind, replace them with the positive ones immediately. For example, change your thought from “I can’t do it” to “I can try if I might be able to”.
The best way to get rid of negativity is doing ‘yoga’ and ‘meditation’. It might seem tough in the beginning, but once you get into practise, it’s easy to continue. At least 10-15 minutes of Yoga is a must for those who really wish to distract themselves from negativity and aspire to transform their thoughts into positive and pure ones.
5)Stop listening to sad songs right away
Music plays a very important role in the process of healing and providing peace to our mind. As music is an integral part of one’s day, it is vital that the music must sound healthy for the mind. So, it is very important to stop listening to the sad songs that generate only negativity when you relate to them.
6)Increase you self-esteem
Think about your positive traits and beliefs. By analysing your own strengths and weaknesses, you can easily improve in fighting the battle against negativity. Focus on your talent areas and stop ruminating over the negative issues time and again.
7)Inculcate the habit of reading
“The world belongs to those who read.” Reading and Writing are those jewels which possess the power of creating a beautiful crown of enlightenment. It will not only make you more concentrated and focused but also lead you to the world of intellectual and open-minded thoughts.
Besides reading, writing too distracts you from negative thoughts. Pen down and pour all your thoughts on paper and you will feel relieved instantly.
