Fatigue has become so common these days that most of us don't give much attention to it. But it is not normal for a human to be fatigued throughout the day. Here are a few important causes for being tired all day.
1. Sedentary lifestyle
This is one of the most probable reasons among adults. People leading an active life are seen to be more energetic and fresh compared to sluggish ones. People who lead a sedentary life are more prone to diseases like diabetes, cancer, etc, which in turn increases fatigue and can lead to chronic fatigue syndrome. We should become more active and also do some non vigorous exercises daily. For example, we can use stairs instead of elevators and escalators and try to walk as much as possible.
2. Lack of enough sleep
Most of the people, due to heavy workload and other reasons, do not get enough sleep. According to studies, an adult requires at least 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep daily. And the most suitable time is from 10 pm to 5 am. To have a good sleep, we should make it a habit to go to bed almost at the same time. Try to avoid the use of mobile phones at least half an hour before sleeping.
3. Less calorie intake
Enough calorie intake is mandatory for energy metabolism since calorie is the fuel for metabolism. Our body requires at least 2,000 calories per day. Thus we need to have a balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals and proteins. For weight loss, it is better to consult a dietitian before following any extensive dieting.
Our body requires water for almost every process to be done. We need to drink at least 8 glasses of water daily to keep ourselves hydrated. Dehydration can directly affect our energy metabolism, making us feel tired.
Anaemia is a medical problem where the haemoglobin count in our blood is very low. In such a case, oxygen content in our body decreases, resulting in lower energy release. It should be diagnosed as fast as possible and treated soon. We should consume more iron rich foods to increase haemoglobin count.
6. Excess of carb rich foods
Increased intake of carbohydrates can result in high sugar levels in blood. It can lead to low metabolic rate and thus decrease the energy level of the body. We should decrease the intake of sugars, carb rich foods and high calorie junk foods. Drinking soft drinks can also result in high sugar levels. Eating protein rich foods, on the opposite, can help in increasing our metabolic rate.
These are some of the most important causes for prolonged fatigue. From this it is clear that if we improve our lifestyle and focus on our diet, we can surely become refreshed and energetic throughout the day.
